Ian Siebert

Picture
Ian's portfolio career is motivated by a deep desire to see people develop themselves to be the best they can be, for themselves and those around them.  Before working as a Senior Consultant with Hay Group (now Korn Ferry) in Melbourne, he was a manager in higher education and industrial relations in Adelaide.  Ian is passionate about combining self-development mindsets with leadership, education and coaching.  Clients value the beliefs he engenders in people.

Higher education, Consulting and Professional Services, Banking and Finance, Professional Associations, Manufacturing, Government.

Significant Work:
  • Over the past 10 years, has worked continuously with Bicycle Network, Australia's biggest bike riding organisation, on projects from organisational re-structures, to coaching the Leadership Team and developing people through Career Development Coaching, but mostly influencing the alignment of its organisational culture with its strategic positioning.
  • As Director of Academic Programs with AIM Business School in Victoria, he facilitated the development of the Higher Education Team to design and deliver high quality, value adding, practical business education for a broad range of students and client organisations.
  • Facilitated MBA Units in Leadership, Change, Consulting and Business Economics face-to-face and online for AIM Business School and Swinburne Professional, to enhance the effectiveness of thousands of leaders and managers.
  • Contributed to the development of Sandringham Community Bank as a Board Director of SCFSL, including Chairing the Remuneration and Nominations Committee and liaising with Bendigo Bank.
  • Coaching hundreds of graduates, emerging leaders, mid-career managers and senior executives to be more effective in their work and careers.  This has covered the past 15 years and drawn on extensive experience across broad sectors and organisations, while building trusting relationships and networks.

Industry Experience and Qualifications:
Ian has held a variety of leadership roles in higher education and consulting. He was unit convener for Leading, Managing and Developing People with AIM Business School and a Member of the Academic Board.  Ian has contributed to the management of Change and Leadership courses with Swinburne University.  He contributes to the development of people via Leadership Victoria and Monash University Business School Alumni.

Ian holds an MBA (Monash), a Bachelor of Economics (Adelaide) and a Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education (UNE) as well as Cert IV TAE (Swinburne).  He continues to read widely and is currently writing on the integration of culture, strategy, change and risk.

In his spare time...
Ian is making the transition from family at home, by undertaking more community activities through his role with Sandringham Community Bank.  His activities are based around beaches and walking for exercise.
